In Short, PUB (Portable USB Box) provides true high speed wireless connectivity at over 100Mbps, with a range up to 25-30ft in version 2 and higher, which is cheaper and faster than major camera manufactures. With it, you can preview shots within seconds on a large display, as each photo is being captured. Supports: Windows XP, Vista, and 7. Currently there is no Mac OSX driver/support. It is possible to run Windows over VMware to have it operate on a Mac OSX. Update: PUB 2.5 is here. The battery enclosure can now be clipped off the photographer's hip or placed in their pocket. It features a selected connector that will pull apart under light force. This reduces (but does not eliminate) potential damage and risk if an accident should occur, where one end is yanked from the other. Also, it allows for quick manual disconnect with the battery box. (Updated on April 18, 2011) Update: There are still questions regarding integration into a sleeker design, such as in a battery grip. Again, the answer is: by doing so it will impact antenna performance, which in turns degrades range and speed. Thus, PUB 2+ does not use this design approach. (Updated Nov 27, 2011) Update: Unfortunately, the full kit -- ready to run, is not available for purchase anymore due to resource constraints. Resources have been redirected to another project working with robotics. This does not mean the end, but it is a temporarily pause. Please wait for mid-Feb for next update. Happy Holidays!
